What: A small-group experience co-presented by Karen Gilbert, OT, CDWF. This experiential group is based on the Rising Strong™ book and curriculum of Brene Brown and will focus on supporting you in creating your own story throughout the challenges of a health condition.

This workshop explored:
- What chronic disease burnout is and how counselling can help
- Common signs and themes, such as depression, anxiety, stress, anger, hopelessness, fatigue, strained relationships
- How to tune up self-care when in burnout – permission to grieve losses, activities of pleasure, medical support, family involvement (if possible), mindfulness
- Ways to prevent future occurrences – balance living and managing disease (unique to each of us), fostering hope, connecting with other people, recognizing sources of motivation/depletion.
